College Internship Opportunities – Wilmington & Dover Offices

Wilmington Office Internship 

Governor John Carney’s Wilmington office offers part-time paid internships throughout the fall, winter, spring, and summer semesters for college students. Interns will have the opportunity to learn more about the policy making process, and assist with research and briefing memos. Interns also will be asked to monitor news outlets, assist with constituent communications, and generally support the Governor’s staff. Internships may qualify for course credit. Interns should plan to schedule between 10 and 15 hours per week for spring/fall internships, and about 25 hours per week for summer internships.

Wilmington Application Priority Deadlines:

  • Winter Term 2023: December 11, 2023
  • Spring Term 2024:  January 5, 2024
  • Summer Term 2024: May 3, 2024
  • Fall Term 2024: August 2, 2024

Staff will reach out to candidates after the priority deadline has passed.

Dover Office Internship

Legal Internship Opportunities

The Office of Governor John Carney is seeking candidates for legal support responsibilities. Candidate will work alongside Office of the Governor attorneys during all phases of legislative review, from the initiation of State Senate and House Bills through final approval by the Governor. Work assignments may include, but not be limited to, legal research and drafting responsibilities (i.e. memoranda). This position is a great opportunity for a candidate with aspirations for a career in government law.

Desired Class Level: rising 2L, 3L, 4L.
