Compensation:


Membership on most Boards and Commissions is voluntary and unpaid. However, there are some exceptions. The boards listed below offer compensation and/or reimbursements for members:

You may apply to one or more boards or commissions by completing and submitting the online application.
No. If at any time you close your browser window prior to submitting your application, you will lose the information you entered and will need to start again.
Yes. Once you have finished and submitted your application, you will have the opportunity to print a copy of your official application for your reference.

Once you SUBMIT your application, you will receive a confirmation email upon receipt of your completed application.
Some boards and commissions offer a stipend or reimbursement for reasonable expenses for participation. View the list of compensated boards at the top of this page. 
YES! You may select up to 4 boards to apply for at a time. If you would like to apply for more than 4 boards, you should submit an additional application. Our database will automatically update your candidate profile to include any additional boards you select on subsequent applications.

If you are willing to serve in any capacity where an opportunity may exist, you can check the box located above the board selection section of the application.

Some boards or commissions may have membership committees that will review your qualifications prior to making a recommendation to the Governor. However, most appointments do not require an interview. Please ensure that your application is completed with all the requested information before submitting.
If the Governor offers you an appointment, you will receive documentation appointing you to the respective board or commission.
Meetings may vary. Whether a meeting is virtual or in person depends on the respective board or commission members, and the state agency that supports the board or commission. Meeting location options are listed on the meeting details on the public meeting calendar.
If you are no longer able or eligible to serve, you should submit a written resignation to the Governor. This can be done via email to Gov_Appointments@Delaware.gov or in writing mailed to:

Current board members interested in being considered for reappointment do not need to complete an additional application. Simply notify the board contact that you would like to be considered and they will relay that information to the Boards and Commissions Team.
It is very important that your contact information is up to date at all times. For applicants, this information is used to contact you with opportunities to serve or if we have questions about your application. For current board members, the information is used to provide you necessary information and notification of board meetings. If your information changes, you should notify the Boards and Commissions Team by emailing us at Gov_Appointments@delaware.gov.
