Press Conference – Delaware Aglands Preservation Round 23 Easement Selections

This event is open to the press.

WHAT: Governor John Carney and Secretary Michael Scuse will announce the easements selected for Round 23 by the Delaware AgLands Foundation Board of Trustees. This is the first time in many years that the AgLands Preservation has been funded for the full $10 million, allowing for additional match, and ultimately the largest round of farmland preserved.

Bill Signing – House Bill 46

This event is open to the press.

WHAT: Governor John Carney will sign House Bill 46 with House Amendment 2, House Amendment 4, and Senate Amendment 2. This act creates a Delaware Manufactured Home Owner Attorney Fund (“Attorney Fund”) by collecting a $0.50 monthly assessment per lot from manufactured home owners who rent a lot in a community governed by the Manufactured Home Owners and Community Owners Act. The Attorney Fund will be administered by the Department of Justice to contract with an attorney or agency who will provide legal representation and advocacy for manufactured home owners enforcing existing rights in disputes with community owners.
