2018 Easterseals CAI Volleyball Challenge

WHAT: Governor John Carney will join state legislators in a volleyball match as part of the Easter Seals Volleyball Challenge. The Volleyball Challenge is a three-day event, which brings the community together to raise critically needed dollars to serve children and adults with disabilities.

Groundbreaking for Lorewood Grove Elementary School

WHAT: Governor John Carney will deliver remarks at a groundbreaking ceremony, marking the beginning of construction on a new elementary school in the Village of Whitehall. Upon completion, Lorewood Grove Elementary will serve more than 800 students in the first grade through the fifth grade.

Text to 9-1-1 Launch Event

This event is open to the press.

WHAT: Governor John Carney will deliver remarks and conduct a live demonstration of the new ‘Text to 9-1-1’ program at the Delaware Department of Safety and Homeland Security’s launch event. Text to 9-1-1 is the ability to send a text message to 911 from your mobile phone or handheld device. Messages are routed to the appropriate Delaware 911 center, in a designated queue. While texting to 911 is now available, it should only be utilized when making a call is not possible.
