32nd Annual Delaware Coastal Cleanup

This event is open to the press.

WHAT: Governor John Carney will participate in the 32nd Annual Delaware Coastal Cleanup in Wilmington. The Cleanup spans the First State’s 97-mile eastern coastline and includes river and ocean shorelines as well as wetland and watershed areas. About 1,500 volunteers, including Scout troops, 4-H clubs, businesses, families and individuals, are expected statewide, with more than 45 sites in New Castle, Kent and Sussex counties.

Bill Signing – House Bill 77, House Bill 78, and Senate Bill 47

This event is open to the press.

WHAT: Governor John Carney will sign House Bill 77 with House Amendment 1, House Bill 78 with House Amendment 1, and Senate Bill 47 with Senate Amendment 1. House Bill 77 with House Amendment 1 consolidates the crime of home invasion with existing burglary statutes. House Bill 78 with House Amendment 1 modifies the carjacking sections and embeds them within the existing robbery statutes to remove duplication from the code. Senate Bill 47 with Senate Amendment 1 simplifies Delaware’s drug code with a goal of providing more fairness in its application.
