Governor Carney established the Government Efficiency and Accountability Review Board (GEAR) to develop recommendations for increasing efficiency and effectiveness across State government, improving the strategic planning process, improving the use of metrics in resource allocation decisions and developing continuous improvement practices.
Governor Carney took office on January 17, 2017 focused on making Delaware’s economy more competitive, preparing Delaware’s children to succeed, and building a long-term, sustainable financial plan. Working with Delawareans across the state, and with members of the General Assembly, he has delivered on each of those priorities.
In the 2018 State of the State Address, Governor Carney outlined his top priorities for this year. Working with the General Assembly, Governor Carney made progress this legislative session on many of the priority items. By working hard and by working together, Delaware passed and enacted legislation that accomplishes these goals.
