Governor Carney will work with the General Assembly, local government officials, community leaders and law enforcement to reduce violence in Wilmington, Dover and all Delaware neighborhoods experiencing high levels of crime. He will take steps to improve safety and encourage business investment that creates new, good-paying jobs in communities across Delaware.
Governor Carney will:

  • Target law-enforcement resources to high-risk offenders and hot-spot areas
  • Build positive relationships between police and the communities they serve
  • Provide educators and their students the tools they need to succeed
  • Improve access to mental health and substance abuse treatment
  • Create new safe, affordable housing in distressed communities
