Bill Signing – Senate Bill 187

This event is open to the press.

WHAT: Governor John Carney will sign Senate Bill 187. This bill requires that the Department of Education ensure that the standards of the Delaware Stars for Early Success system are consistent with the regulations of the Office of Child Care Licensing. It also removes the Office of Child Care Licensing from the Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families and puts it within the Department of Education to facilitate that consistency.

ANNOUNCEMENT – $2.6M for Low and No-Emission Buses

This event is open to the press.

WHAT: Governor John Carney, U.S. Senator Tom Carper, Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester, Delaware Department of Transportation Secretary Jennifer Cohan, and Delaware Transit Corporation CEO John Sisson will announce a $2.6 million grant award from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration to Delaware Transit Corporation to purchase or lease zero-emission and low-emission transit buses. This is the third grant of its kind to Delaware to help reduce harmful emissions from buses.
