Governor Carney to Receive Flu Shot at Drive-Thru Clinic

This event is open to the press

WHAT: Governor John Carney will receive his flu shot at the 11:00 a.m. press conference during the Division of Public Health’s Drive-Thru Flu Clinic. DPH, in partnership with BayHealth, will administer free flu shots at the drive-thru clinic from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to drivers and pedestrians. Anyone age 9 and up is welcome. Any size vehicles and any number of people in one vehicle are welcome.

Roundtable Discussion for the Family Court Enhancement Project & Proclamation Signing for Domestic Violence Awareness Month

WHAT: Governor John Carney will join Attorney General Matt Denn, Chief Judge of the Family Court The Honorable Michael Newell, Justice of the Supreme Court of Delaware The Honorable Collins J. Seitz, Jr., and others for a roundtable discussion that will serve to review the progress made in enhancing the court experience for litigants in domestic violence and child custody matters. In November 2013, Delaware was among four courts nationwide selected by the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women to receive a $400,000 federal grant as part of the Family Court Enhancement Project (FCEP). Working closely with judicial officers, court staff, advocates and attorneys, improvements have focused on improving policies, procedures, and the overall court experience for litigants in Protection From Abuse (PFA) and child custody cases to help keep victims of domestic violence and their children safe from further violence and trauma.

Following the roundtable discussion the Governor will sign a proclamation, recognizing the month of October as Domestic Violence Awareness month.
