Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement ‘IMPACT Delaware’ Conference

What: Governor John Carney will deliver the keynote address at the DANA ‘IMPACT Delaware’ Conference in Wilmington. This annual conference focuses on the leadership capacity needed to address the changing and dynamic social service landscape in Delaware. Leaders from the nonprofit, philanthropic, government, business and religious sectors will come together and take part in dynamic conversations focused on issues that require collective efforts in order to accelerate the change needed to move Delaware communities forward.

The Delaware Tourism Office and Delaware State Parks will unveil new beach umbrellas and other efforts to position Delaware as a leading vacation destination, and promote the state’s $3 billion tourism industry. La Vida Hospitality Group also will show off its new Big Chill Beach Club.

CAI Delaware Center Appreciation Picnic, Celebrating 30 years in Delaware

What: Governor John Carney will join CAI President Tom Salvaggio, Acting Director of the Delaware Economic Development Office Cerron Cade, New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer and employees of CAI to celebrate the company’s 30 years in Delaware. Currently, CAI has over 300 associates working in the state. CAI is active in supporting the community including its support of Easter Seals, The Grand, The Delaware National Guard, and many other nonprofit organizations in the state, in addition to its Autism to Work program.

Delaware Pathways to Prosperity School Visit

This event is open to the press.

What: Governor John Carney will visit students, teachers and staff at Middletown High School as part of the Delaware Pathways to Prosperity initiative. Delaware Pathways programs are focused on a specific industry-based “pathway” paired with opportunities for students to gain workplace experience while still in high school, graduate with a head start on a college degree or gain qualifications needed to enter the workforce immediately. The Governor will hear from Appoquinimink School District Superintendent Dr. Matt Burrows and Appoquinimink High School Principal Dr. Keisha Brinkley. They will discuss the program’s vision for college and career readiness, speak with students, and visit classrooms.
