Protecting Delaware’s Children Conference

What: Governor John Carney will deliver remarks at the Protecting Delaware’s Children Conference in Wilmington. Governor Carney will also sign a proclamation recognizing the month of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in Delaware. This year’s conference will feature national and local experts who will address multidisciplinary collaboration and various aspects of the response to child abuse and neglect through plenary sessions and workshops. Topics discussed will include engaging families with opiate addictions, vicarious and secondary trauma, the impact of poverty and exposure to violence on families and children ,the use of psychotropic medications for children in foster care, and the attachment and bio-behavioral catch-up intervention for caregivers.
