April 4, 2007 – Governor Minner delivered remarks and cut the ribbon at the opening of the first solar powered poultry house at Allen’s Family Food’s farm in Laurel. This project is a three-year research effort, led by the University of Delaware, to determine the efficiency and viability of solar energy for the Delmarva Peninsula’s poultry industry.
