OMB Launches New Online Vendor Subscription Service for State Contract Bidding

New service provides personalized bid delivery service for businesses

DOVER –Gov. Jack Markell announced the launch of the State’s newest business vendor resource, Delaware’s Vendor Subscription Service. This service complements the State’s central bid portal, bids.delaware.gov, which launched in June.
 
“This new service makes it easier for companies to do business with Delaware government. Our vendor subscription service eliminates the need for Delaware businesses to navigate hundreds of websites to find business opportunities with the State,” said Markell. “This new online resource will send subscribers the exact information they need to bid on a state contract for the products and services they offer, which will increase their economic development opportunities.”
 
The vendor subscription service launched on August 1 and alerts service subscribers to specific bid solicitations as soon as they are posted on the portal site. When a business registers online to receive bid solicitations from the State through the subscription service, the vendor will enter a standardized code that correlates to the service or product they provide. Then, when a bid solicitation becomes available for that specific service or product, the vendor receives an email from the subscription service, notifying the vendor of the contract opportunity.

“This service completes the package of new resources we have made available to make it easier for contractors, suppliers and citizens to do business with the state,” said Director Ann Visalli, Office of Management and Budget. “Together, the Department of Technology and Information, the Government Information Center and Government Support Services (GSS) worked across agency lines to create these new services and provide more opportunities for Delawareans.”

The vendor subscription service is available on the OMB website at http://gss.omb.delaware.gov/contracting/vendorap.shtml. Beginning September 1, the GSS Contracting Unit will use the vendor subscription service as the sole resource for vendors to receive announcements of bid solicitations for contracts with the State of Delaware.
