Markell Announces Nominees to Fill Court of Common Pleas Judgeships

Rocanelli, Reigle are Governor's first judicial picks

WILMINGTON – Gov. Jack Markell announced Friday he will nominate two distinguished and respected Delaware attorneys to fill a pair of seats on the Court of Common Pleas.

Markell will nominate Andrea Rocanelli of Wilmington to serve on the New Castle Court of Common Pleas and Anne Hartnett Reigle of Wyoming to sit on the Kent County Court of Common Pleas.

"Andrea and Anne have the legal knowledge and temperament it takes to be excellent jurists," Markell said. "I nominated them because I am confident they will be wonderful additions to Delaware's renowned community of judges."

Rocanelli, who graduated from Boston College and Harvard Law School, has served in the Office of Disciplinary Counsel of the Supreme Court since 1997. She was named chief counsel in 2003.

“I am extremely honored and pleased to be nominated,” Rocanelli said.

Reigle, who graduated from the University of Delaware and the Widener University School of Law, practices at the firm of Parkowski, Guerke & Swayze.

"I look forward to having the opportunity to serve the people of Delaware if confirmed," Reigle said.
