The Governor is appointing the following Delawareans to the Judicial Nominating Commission: F. Michael Parkowski, Esq. of Dover - Chairperson Stuart M. Grant, Esq. of Wilmington – Vice-Chairperson Drewry N. Fennell, Esq. of Wilmington Teresa J. Ford of Lewes Scott A. Green, Esq., of Rehoboth Beach Michael F. Kelly, Esq. of Wilmington Ileana M. Woo of Newark “The preeminence of Delaware’s judiciary is recognized across the country and around the world,” Markell said. “Leading businesses choose to incorporate in Delaware because they know that Delaware judges, at every level, have created one of the finest court systems anywhere. The work of the Judicial Nominating Commission has been a big part of this success. “Today I am honored to appoint some of Delaware’s leading citizens to the Judicial Nominating Commission that will help me appoint to the bench men and women who are leaders in the bar and in their communities. They have an important job to do, and I look forward to working with them to ensure that Delaware continues to have a judiciary that knows no equal. “I would like to thank Allen Terrell, President of the Delaware State Bar Association, for nominating former Chief Justice Norman Veasey to serve as the Bar Association’s representative on the Commission. Chief Justice Veasey’s unique perspective as both a lawyer and the leader of Delaware’s courts will be an invaluable resource to the Commission.” |
