Kathleen Sebelius to Head Health and Human ServicesWILMINGTON – Governor Jack Markell applauded President Barack Obama's nomination of Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius to head the Department of Health and Human Services, citing her record as a Governor and her years of experience as her state's Insurance Commissioner. "Governor Sebelius has earned her reputation as someone who gets things done under difficult circumstances. She understands the enormous burdens rising health care costs and declining coverage place on families, businesses and budgets. Her leadership will be critical to solving these problems and getting our nation moving again," Markell said. "I've known Governor Sebelius for almost a decade. I've got full confidence in her abilities to serve as an effective Secretary." |
