Gov. Minner Announces 300 New Jobs at Bank of America in Delaware
Dover – Governor Ruth Ann Minner and officials from Bank of America announced today that the company will add 300 new jobs and expand its Christiana and Dover facilities in Delaware.
“I am thrilled with Bank of America’s decision to expand its already significant presence in Delaware,” said Gov. Minner. “Financial services is one of Delaware’s main economic engines, and Bank of America plays a significant role in the success of this thriving industry.”
Bank of America Card Services currently has more than 1,300 associates in the claims processing and customer service divisions at its Christiana and Dover facilities. Associates currently working in Christiana are extremely involved in the community as they have participated in events with a variety of not-for-profit organizations, contributing more than 1,500 volunteer hours so far this year.
The Dover facility, located in the Blue Hen Corporate Center, is already one of Dover and Kent County’s top 10 largest private sector employers. It also is one of Bank of America’s largest call centers in the country.
“We are committed to maintaining these locations and pleased to expand our operations in Delaware with the addition of these positions,” said Bob Whyte, Card Services Operations executive, Bank of America. “These are very important positions that help us deliver the high-quality service and convenience that our customers have come to rely on.”
As part of this partnership, Bank of America is benefiting by receiving training grants from the state of Delaware to increase training at the Christiana and Dover facilities. In addition, the company will make improvements to the facilities to accommodate the additional positions.
