Gov. Ruth Ann Minner To Appear Live on TV’s “Good Morning America” Tuesday
Dover – Governor Ruth Ann Minner is scheduled to appear live on ABC’s “Good Morning America” Tuesday to talk about her life and election as Delaware’s governor.
Gov. Minner is scheduled speak with “Good Morning America” host Diane Sawyer via satellite from Woodburn, the home of the Governor in Dover. Sawyer will be in GMA’s New York studio. The interview is scheduled to take place between 7 and 9 a.m.
A profile of Gov. Minner – to be taped by an ABC camera crew in Milford, Dover and Wilmington Monday – will also be featured on the show.
The morning show appearance comes as part of a wave of national media attention for Gov. Minner. Her swearing-in as Delaware’s first woman governor on Wednesday was covered by The New York Times and carried in newspapers across the country. The resulting publicity has even led to offers of book deals for Gov. Minner.
“While I am flattered by the attention, my focus right now is on what I was elected for: working to improve the lives of the people of Delaware,” Gov. Minner said.
“But,” she added jokingly, “if the movie offers start coming in, I might rethink my position.”
“Good Morning America” can be seen locally on WPVI Channel 6 from Philadelphia, WMDT Channel 47 from Salisbury, Md., or WMAR Channel 2 from Baltimore.
