Governor Minner Orders State Flags Lowered for Peace Officers’ Memorial Day
Dover – Governor Ruth Ann Minner ordered state flags be flown at half-staff today in honor of our brave and dedicated law enforcement officers and in memory of those officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. The order follows that of President George W. Bush, who proclaimed today as Peace Officers’ Memorial Day and ordered the lowering of United States flags.
“I am extremely proud of and thankful for the men and women in our state and local law enforcement agencies,” Gov. Minner said. “They put their own lives at risk to keep us safe, and we are grateful for their commitment and service to the people of Delaware.”
The flags will remain lowered until midnight.
