Gov. Minner Lifts Drought Watch
Dover – Governor Ruth Ann Minner announced today that she has signed Executive Order 107, lifting the statewide drought watch issued in October, after a recommendation from the state’s Water Supply Coordinating Council.
“I thank every Delawarean who followed my recommendation for voluntary water conservation measures during the drought watch,” said Gov. Minner. “It’s become obvious as I travel throughout our state that residents and businesses are practicing water conservation, and I encourage everyone to continue these habits year-round.”
The state’s Water Supply Coordinating Council unanimously recommended lifting the drought watch after recent reports of water conditions indicated a predominance of normal stream flows and ground water levels that had previously fallen below normal levels due to a lack of rain late last summer and early fall.
